Empowering the Next Generation: Circular City Challenge Workshop in Trofaiach

In the picturesque city of Trofaiach, a transformative workshop took place, marking a significant step towards a sustainable future. The Circular City Challenge experts hosted an engaging and innovative workshop with approximately 24 spirited teenage students from our partner city. These bright young minds were divided into 8 teams, embarking on a mission to reimagine their city through the lens of circularity.
The workshop was not just an educational experience but a space to become aware of their environments, available resources, and the local stakeholders involved in the social, environmental, and economical processes. The students delved into the concept of a circular economy, brainstorming ways to revitalize Trofaiach.

Their proposals were nothing short of inspiring, suggesting the renovation of abandoned buildings to breathe new life into forgotten spaces, enhancing mobility to ensure every citizen can navigate the region with ease, advocating for the prudent use of natural resources, and fostering social cohesion to unite the community.
These projects, rich with potential, will undergo a thorough evaluation by CCC experts. The most circular idea will be honored at an award ceremony this June in Trofaiach. This event will not only celebrate the winning project but also showcase an exhibition of all the proposals, highlighting the creativity and dedication of Trofaiach’s youth. Additionally, the exhibition will educate visitors on the methods and benefits of teaching sustainable development, showcasing how such initiatives can shape the minds of future responsible citizens.
