Action for future green and inclusive societies” at the Green Cities Conference

Our joint vision is green, powerful, just, and beautiful cities where people can live and flourish. But how do we move from vision to action? In this seminar participants explored the importance of multi-level cooperation and the Urban Agenda for the EU and the DUT partnership as important contributors for this change.

Multi-level panel focused on good examples on how to become green and inclusive. Vera Marin, presented the CircularCityChallenge project, to share experiences on how the project includes citizens or the civil society in the process of green transition, and how can the incorporation of natural-based solutions into urban decision-making be effectively promoted, and what are the best practices for doing so.

 

How to turn green visions into actions? A seminar on multi-level cooperation and the Urban Agenda for the EU

On June 15th 2023 a seminar was held on the topic of multi-level cooperation and the Urban Agenda for the EU, with a focus on the Driving Urban Transitions (DUT) partnership. The seminar aimed to explore how to move from green visions to actions, and how to involve different stakeholders in the process of green transition.

The seminar featured a multi-level panel of speakers from various sectors and levels of governance, who shared their good examples and best practices on how to become green and inclusive. One of the speakers was Dr. Vera Marin, who presented the CircularCityChallenge project, an initiative that engages citizens and civil society in co-creating circular solutions for urban challenges. She explained how the project uses participatory methods and digital tools to empower the youth and promote the incorporation of circularity into urban decision-making, and what are the benefits and challenges of doing so.

The seminar was attended by of participants from different backgrounds and countries, who had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange views with the speakers. The seminar was part of a series of events organized to support the implementation of the Urban Agenda for the EU and the DUT partnership.
